Hello I’m Nathan Brewer a small business owner and county worker who is running for Oklahoma Senate District 8. I aim to strengthen democracy, protect children from sex offenders, make healthcare and mental health more accessible, fund rural emergency services. I pledge to represent all constituents.
We have to stand up for democracy, if we don’t we’ll lose it. We have to get out and vote your voice matters! In my last election I was able to move the needle 18% so I know we can get more Democrats in office. I’m just your typical small town small business owner as well as a full time county worker that lives paycheck to paycheck so I’m just like the average Joe here in Oklahoma. I am running for Oklahoma senate District 8 to represent everyone. I’m here for you first and foremost and yes I do have bills already written that i will be working on once elected to office. I have to stand up and represent everyone. I know the tragedy that I went threw is heartbreaking for most and I would hate to see anybody else have to go threw it. When the current legislation does not want to change laws to protect the constituents and their children then it’s time for someone to step up and do so, that is why I decided to run for office. The area that I will also be working on is strengthening laws to protect our children and our communities from sex offenders. I will be working on getting health care more affordable as well as making mental health more accessible for rural communities. Additionally I will work on funding for rural fire departments as well as rural police departments. I pledge to be here for the constituents whether it’s a phone call or an email.

Nathan Brewer is a small business owner and dedicated father from Henryetta, Oklahoma. He is running as the Democratic candidate for the Oklahoma State Senate District 8 seat, which includes Okmulgee, Okfuskee, McIntosh and parts of Creek and Muskogee counties.
The seat became vacant following Senator Roger Thompson’s resignation on November 1, 2024. Brewer’s candidacy is deeply personal.
In 2023, his daughter, Brittany Brewer, was tragically killed in a mass murder-suicide in Henryetta. This event has driven him to prioritize strengthening laws to protect children and enhance public safety. He advocates for the passage of “Knight’s Law,” introduced in 2023, which mandates that individuals convicted of certain child sex crimes—such as child rape, child pornography, child prostitution, and human trafficking—serve 100% of their sentences.
Additionally, Brewer aims to improve rural access to healthcare services, including mental health care. As the sole Democratic candidate, Brewer will advance directly to the general election scheduled for November 3, 2026.
He is actively engaging with residents across the district to understand their concerns and represent them effectively at the State Capitol.
